Collective Aloardi is excited to welcome the Dutch visual artist Rosa Johanna in Peru, who will develop her project at our headquarters in Lima during a one-week artist-in-residency, under the guidance of Aloardi member Gabriel Castillo.
Rosa Johanna (Amsterdam, 1991) is graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2015 and was awarded for the van Abbemuseum, Theodora Niemeijer Prize in 2016 (3rd prize). Next to her painterly practice, she researches this medium through video, performance, and performative installations in which often people from various disciplines are asked to take part and interact with the interpreted forms related to her painterly practice. It questions and extends the abstract visual language she develops in her paintings, in which not an idea but the interaction with the canvas is provided as context. Web: www.rosajohanna.com
