Aloardi label started in 1998 as one of the first labels and independent platforms in South and Central America diffusing and producing experimental music, audiovisual art, sound related interventions, internet radio broadcasts and alternative acoustic research. Based in Lima – Peru, our headquarters serves as venue for workshops, a residency programme, and a mediatheque.

FRAU DIAMANDA is Hector Acuña: a transgender visual artist, drag performer, curator, cultural agent, translator, writer, Dj, visagist and actor/actress from Lima, Peru. Frau Diamanda has initiated many projects linked to transgenderness as political stance, and is determined to confront patriarchal obstacles predominant in the art systems, the mass media, the networks and life itself.

GABRIEL CASTILLO hacks toy guns and turns them into sound instruments, making glitches and modulations in sound and light. He loves the nature of the digital error; whether audible or visual, and induces basic code editors, de-contextualising electronics, overcoming their logical functionality, and revealing their natural spirit. He is looking for contextual demonstrations, or synesthetic epiphanies. Gabriel Castillo is artist-in-residence at WORM in May 2016.

DJ SAJJRA will play a crossbreed of post-apocalyptic pop, roughed up Andean folk, Peruvian chicha, new/no wave, and all kinds of underground stuff from sixties til now – all from South America! Sounds crazy? Maybe so, but this stuff will get you going one way or another! DJ Sajjra is a project of Christian Galarreta. Today he lives between Peru, France and The Netherlands.

Aloardi Fest is part of the Aloardi Exchange Program 2016 in The Netherlands, a three-months project curated by Janneke van der Putten and in collaboration between among others WORM (Rotterdam), Mirta Demare Art (Rotterdam), CHARLOIS SPECIAAL festival (Rotterdam), and Studio LOOS (The Hague).

Founded in Peru in 1998, Aloardi started as one of the first labels and independent iniciatives in South and Central America diffusing and producing experimental and electronic music, media art, sound related interventions, alternative acoustic research and autochthonous cultural expressions of its región. We support and generate collaborations between people with self-managed associations and institutions on local, national and international level. We organize events and transdisciplinary exhibitions, initiate actions and share knowledge: the association is engaged in approaches towards (non)technological resources, sustainable work and exchange with local communities. Based in Lima, our space serves since 2004 as venue for meetings, workshops, research laboratories, a residency program, audiovisual productions, internet radio broadcasts and a mediatheque. Recent news about the Aloardi activities can be found on this website; to see more, you can visit our old website here.
